Texas Hold'em Rules: From the Blinds to Showdown

Texas Hold'em is the world's most widely played poker format. Each player receives two private cards and shares five community cards, but the strategic depth comes from betting, position and range analysis.

Players
Usually two to ten players at one table.
Deck
One standard 52-card deck with no jokers.
Goal
Win the pot with the best five-card hand or by making everyone fold.
Forced bets
Small blind and big blind begin the action.
The four betting rounds

After the final betting round, remaining players reveal cards. The best five-card hand wins. Players may use both hole cards, one hole card or no hole cards.
Example hand construction
Your cards: A♠ K♠
Board: Q♠ J♠ 10♠ 4♦ 2♣
Your best hand is a royal flush using both hole cards and three board cards.
Second example: Your cards are 2♦ 2♣ and the board is A♠ K♥ Q♣ J♦ 10♠. Your pair does not play because the board itself makes a higher ace-high straight.
All-ins and side pots
A player may wager all remaining chips. When other players continue betting beyond that amount, the all-in player competes only for the main pot and eligible side pots are created for the remaining players.
